Today’s Work: Email Accounts, DNS and Websites
Today’s work is nothing glamorous: I am working through the final stages of conceptualization and setup of 2 new websites, both of which are on SS 7.1 and are replacing older, lamer websites, plus I am working through setup of a new email account:
Project 1 today is for a website for an overseas client who requested a new email account for his SS website (domain thru GoDaddy, email in Office 365, and website on Squarespace) so I got to learn about managing DNS inside Squarepsace as opposed ot within GoDaddy - not that hard now that I know where to go and what to do. Harder was setup of the new email account, and learning what DNS records to add - they revealed this info to me in stages inside Godaddy.
Project 2 involves the mid-to-final stages of completion of a new SS 7.1 website for a toy studio, who will then go on to take advantage of the Beacon AI SEO features of Squarespace 7.1 sites. This is a crucial step as they engage more with clients who are working with AI tools (both organizational and creative) more and more in 2026. I am leaving the studio’s older portfolio site as-is (400+ pages!). This new site is more of a content-heavy explainer site which will be designed to attract new clients. This site should be completed by Toy Fair in mid-February in order to make it most useful to client, who will be taking meetings at that show.
Project 3 is a new SS 7.1 website for a licensing & branding agency to replace their ancient one page website. Beautiful design (conveyed to me via a Keynote crafted by client) is easy to follow nd replicate in the form of a new functional website. Beacon AI SEO will be deployed once all content is added to all pages. This is another site that must be finished by the end of this week in order to make sure that the transfer of the domain is not rushed and we can tweak it and review/revise in time for the mid-February Toy Fair event in NY.
